11/10 is not enough. For our 2 week stay, this place has been absolutely perfect for us, rural, quiet, cosy, clean, and what not.
Luis has provided us much much more than we expected. We literally felt like home.
I would definitely recommend and 100% return!

Our stay in São Vicente was absolutely perfect. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and in the best location for exploring the entire island of Madeira. Luis is an incredibly kind and helpful host who made us feel very welcome from the very beginning. My sister and I truly enjoyed every moment of our stay. I'm so glad I found this wonderful place! Far from the bustling city, it offers stunning, breathtaking views. Waking up to a mountain view was a wonderful way to start the day. It was exactly what I was looking for for a week-long getaway. I also loved the location—right in the center of the northern part of the island—making it easy and quick to reach all the sights within 30 minutes. A grocery store and gas station are also nearby. There's also parking on site. The cabin has everything you need for a long, comfortable stay, even sandwich boxes for taking with you on your walks. The bed and mattress were very comfortable; I slept well and nothing disturbed me. Luis and his wonderful mother are very polite and kind, always ready to help with any questions! They helped me with advice, for example, on shopping and sightseeing. And before leaving, we received a treat of homemade cookies, which was a very nice touch. Next time I will definitely stay at this place

Conveniently located, easy to reach by car, not too high in the mountains, the slope is normal, not too steep, and the road is wide enough for this area. If you use Google Maps, before approaching the house, it directs you to turn left at the intersection along the church, but I recommend turning right, as this will make it easier to access Luis's property later

It was so comfortable and easy staying at Luís’ property. It was beautiful, well appointed, and in a perfect location. It’s clear he and his family have put a lot of thought into the property. I would advise any of my friends or family who were interesting in visiting Madeira to stay at this property.

I had a very good stay in Sao Vicente. It was a nice quit place and i could ask everything at Luis. All that you need is there. With a car you can come everywhere on the island.

The neighbourhood is very safe. As a woman alone i felt always safe. In the place Sao Vicente is a good supermarket and a few restaurants.
There is public transport but you can better rent a car.

It was such a pleasure to be there. It is a great family setting . Owners are very nice and helpful, we felt like at home. Place is quiet, we felt great to be away from the tourist traffic yet so close to everything we needed. We will certainly be back.

Thank you! A very cozy place with a friendly family. We had everything we needed for our 5-day stay at the end of October :) The weather was changeable, and it got a bit chilly in the evenings, but there was a dryer and a heater, which made it comfortable.

Everything was so lovely, we didn't want to leave. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful, they make you feel like part of the family. The tiny house was cozy and clean, and had everything we needed. And those views... absolutely stunning! Thank you, Luís!

It's a very quiet little village. Aside from a church, some chickens, and a single local café, there aren't many amenities. What you will find, however, are beautiful views and complete peace and quiet. The village is located 3 kilometers uphill from the center of Sao Vicente, where, in contrast, you'll find all the facilities you need. Therefore, having a car is very practical.

This flat is located on a beautiful property in a scenic and quiet neighborhood. It's quite cozy and is best for one or two people, possibly three if traveling with a small child (as we were). The host and his mother, who happened to be on site, were both kind and accommodating. It's a nice place to stay, especially if you like cats.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful, thanks to an amazing host who truly went above and beyond. From the moment we booked, the host responded quickly to all our questions, making us feel completely at ease.
We did encounter a minor issue with the stove, but the host's responsiveness was incredible; a brand new one was replaced within a day! This level of attentiveness truly made a difference.
The place itself was impeccably clean, and the view from the balcony was simply breathtaking. Waking up to the early morning birds chirping and the gentle sound of flowing water created such a refreshing and peaceful start to each day. It was the perfect way to feel rejuvenated after a good night's sleep.
We can't recommend this host and their beautiful place enough!

I had a wonderful stay at these apartments in Madeira! The conditions were excellent – everything was very clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The apartment was fully equipped with everything I needed, which made my stay incredibly comfortable. One of the highlights was the absolutely stunning view – waking up to that every day was truly a dream! The owner was extremely friendly, helpful, and always available in case I had any questions. The house was really cozy, clean and well-equipped. The town is located in beautiful area. It is a great base for hiking and exploring nearst routes and levadas.

The owners are super kind, helpful and easy to communicate. They create nice and comfortable atmosphere there.

Additional plus of the place is the family of adorable cats living in the area, who loves spending some time and sleeping in front of the house. If you stay there please respect them and give some cat-snack ;)

This holiday home exceeded our expectations in everything. Luís and his mom were hospitable and helpful with our every question or request. We stayed in a small cozy modern cottage in the middle of the grape plantation on a picturesque hill near Sao Vicente. There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was fully equipped, and additionally, we were able to use a grill at the entrance to the cottage right next to a small outdoor dining area. The terrace on the second floor was our favorite spot to have a meal with the best outlook over the plantation and the hill. It's a nice location for those who like hiking as many trails are around this part of Madeira. It was nicely fresh at night as the clouds would come down the hill giving very light refreshing drizzle and yet very sunny and warm at daytime even though the end of September is not quite summer. We loved everything about our Madeira home and we are hopeful to be back to this beautiful countryside in the middle of the island. Thank you Luís for making our vacation exceptional!

Quiet countryside surrounded by several mountain ridges with small settlements on the hills below the ridges. I wouldn't stay there without a car like anywhere in Madeira. The nearest big supermarket is 14km away. There are quite a few local restaurants/bars in the vicinity. Several official tourist trails start in 15-20 min drive from the place. The sea coast is within maybe 5-10 min drive in Sao Vicente though maybe the best beaches are more in the south or in Seixal in the north.

I had an amazing stay at this property! The location is absolutely stunning, surrounded by mountains in every direction, offering a serene and peaceful atmosphere—perfect for getting a good rest after exploring the island, hiking the levadas, or swimming in natural pools. Luis was an excellent host, providing everything we needed, including an extra mattress for added comfort. The kitchen was fully equipped, and having a washing machine was a great convenience. If I return to Madeira, If I return to Madeira, I’d choose to stay here again without a doubt.

I had a really lovely time at Luis's house, the view from the house to the surrounding mountains is stunning, the house is well equipped and I had everything I needed. Luís was super helpful, answered all my questions and recommended some nice places in the city. I stayed for a little over a week and mostly used my time for hiking and a few levada walks around the area, so I didn't need to use public transport very often, just to get back to Funchal. It's a really nice and peaceful place, I highly recommend it.

Luis byl vždy ochotný a vstřícný, obratem reagoval na dotazy. Přizpůsobil se našemu příjezdu a odjezdu. Dal nám tipy na restaurace a obchody. Ubytování je v klidné části s výhledem na hory, nedaleko oceánu. Doporučuji.

Amazing place to stay! High recommendation 10/10. The house is very cute and well equipped. The landscape is spectacular! Luis and Angela are very welcoming and helpful. You can manage in the area without a car and at the end of your holiday a better physical shape is guaranted. In case of overtraining, there is taxi and car rental available in São Vicente ;)

Naprosto nádherné ubytování v krásné části ostrova. Pan majitel je krajinný architekt a jde to poznat. Citlivé zasazení do severní zelené krajiny společně s vinicemi, které nemovitost obklopují, bylo magické a naši svatební cestu to výtečně vyšperkovalo. Vřele doporučujeme, pokud chcete být v soukromí daleko od mas turistů a v zelenější části ostrova. Auto je ale nejspíše nutností.

We spent few wonderful months in Luis's house. It is so cozy and well equipped. The location was perfect for us because of the privacy and mountains around. Only 5 min to the ocean, 10 - to the nearest mountain path. Luis was responsive and always helpful.

Awesome experience! I had no idea where I was going when I booked this place and when I arrived I couldn't believe how perfect it was. Peace and quiet were on my agenda and I got it there. Absolutely breathtaking views! The home is updated and bright and has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a very comfortable bed. The cherry on the top was the owners. Luis and his mother, Angela, are incredibly sweet and genuine, and were beyond accommodating. And of course, Sasha, the family dog, became my best friend, or I became hers anyway. 😂 I felt like family. I cried when I left after a month. I will return one day for sure!

The neighbourhood is very rustic with all farms, but also with a good road system. You definitely need a vehicle to get around as buses are very limited. It's up in the mountains so it's very green and lush. The people are incredibly warm and friendly. It's also close to one of best surfing beaches and despite being in the mountains, is not too far from Funchal and other towns.

There are so many beautiful places it's hard to say. What I did was get in my car and just drove. The beach area is quite nice if you want to be with lots of people, restaurants, etc. The Atlantic Ocean is everywhere you look!

We stayed a couple of weeks for smartworking and felt at home.
Luis immediately gave us directions to places to see and where to eat, and as soon as we arrived mum brought us a very good banana helmet.
We'll be back, sure.
