She tried to force me to pay additional cleaning fee, there was a document that I had to sign when I arrived, and it created more obligations that were originally stated in the Flatio contract (very detailed cleaning instructions). If you don't do very detailed cleaning, you have to pay additional 25 000 HUF (I did a lot of cleaning, I did not leave the apartment dirty.)
When I refused to sign a document at checkout that would force me to pay 25 000 HUF, she threatened with police, I had to call Flatio support, she tried to black mail me to sign it, Flatio support told me not to sign it, they were very helpful.
I consider her communication style very aggressive.
The Internet connection is not that much reliable, and there is no cutting board in the kitchen, but otherwise the flat is good, and it is really in the middle of the city center.
I wouldn't recommend this experience to anybody, but the flat itself and the location is relatively good.

I recently stayed at a lovely apartment in Budapest, and while there were some great aspects, there were also a few areas that could use improvement. Overall, I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay, but I believe that with some adjustments, this host could truly provide a top-notch experience.
The positives were immediately apparent upon entering the apartment. The fully equipped kitchen was a great asset, allowing me to cook meals and save money during my trip. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's rest after long days exploring the city. The location was superb, situated in a convenient area, close to attractions and amenities. Plus, the environment was very quiet, allowing for peaceful and undisturbed relaxation.
However, there were some drawbacks that hindered my overall experience. One of the most notable issues was the lack of natural light in the apartment, which made the space feel dark and somewhat gloomy. This issue could be mitigated by adding more artificial light sources or using lighter colors for the interior design.
Additionally, the internet speed was quite poor, which was frustrating when trying to research local attractions or stay connected with friends and family back home. A faster, more reliable connection would be a significant improvement for future guests.
Another drawback was the lack of a dedicated workspace for those who need to use a laptop during their stay. A small desk or table could make a big difference for digital nomads or business travelers. Lastly, the sleeping area had no ventilation or air circulation, which could lead to stuffy, uncomfortable nights. A simple solution would be to provide a fan or invest in an air conditioning system to improve the quality of sleep for guests.
In conclusion, this Budapest apartment has a lot of potential, with its comfortable bed, quiet environment, and excellent location. However, the host should address the issues of natural light, internet speed, workspace availability, and sleeping area ventilation to make the space even more appealing to potential guests. With these improvements, I believe the apartment could become a truly exceptional place to stay.

PROS:
+ El apartamento está ubicado en una zona con buenas conexiones con el transporte público.
+ Hay supermercados, cafeterías y restaurantes cerca del apartamento.
+ Buen WiFi, excelente para teletrabajar desde el apartamento.
+ El apartamento te ofrece todas las herramientas y utensilios para poder vivir allí durante un largo periodo y no echar en falta nada. Utensilios de cocina, fuegos, microondas, frigorífico, plancha, tendedero, aspiradora, fregona, escoba, router, vajilla, sabanas, toallas, secador...
+ Tienes la mitad de una terraza para tomar el aire.
+ Hay mucho espacio de almacenaje, el armario ropero es gigantesco y en la cocina hay espacio de sobra para almacenar comida.
+ Tiene ascensor, aunque al ser una primera planta no lo usarás mucho.
+ Durante mi estancia allí no tuve problemas con ruidos del vecindario.
+ El apartamento tiene el tamaño perfecto para que pueda vivir allí una o dos personas.
+ La zona es segura, y deberás pasar por cuatro puertas antes de entrar en el apartamento, lo que aumenta la seguridad.
CONTRAS:
- Si quieres cocinar algo más elaborado tendrás problemas con los cortes de luz. Si tienes puesto el fuego grande de la cocina durante más de 20 minutos saltarán los plomos. Esto me ha sucedido al menos 5 veces. Deberás esperar 15 minutos antes de poder encender los plomos de nuevo, algo que hace que estés más tiempo cocinando y te roba mucho tiempo libre.
- Si sois dos personas (yo estuve una semana conviviendo con mi pareja) no podréis ducharos de seguido ya que después de que la primera persona se duche deberás esperar un tiempo a que se caliente el agua de nuevo.
- Aunque el apartamento se me entrego en buenas condiciones, tenía algunos desperfectos. Las cortinas de la ducha tenían unas manchas que a gente más sensible podrían resultarle repulsivas. Había ropa interior usada en un cajón y debajo del microondas había una gran mancha que parecía llevar allí bastante tiempo. Creo que el anterior servicio de limpieza hizo un trabajo muy superficial.
- Cuando se va a terminar el periodo de alquiler, la casera te hará pagar una cuota de limpieza o te hará hacer una limpieza profunda del apartamento. Algo que se sale fuera de lo establecido por Flatio que sólo te pide hacer una limpieza general.
- La calefacción hace sonidos por la noche que a más de uno le dificultarán el sueño.
- La cocina no tiene campana extractora, y además tiene una alarma de humos. Por lo que si cocinas carne seguramente tendrás que coger una escalera y apagar la alarma en repetidas ocasiones.
- No entra mucha luz al apartamento por el patio, lo que te obliga en ocasiones a tener las luces artificiales encendidas.

Beautiful apartment right in the city centre. The location is central but the apartment is quiet, there was no noise from the neighbours and I couldn’t hear the traffic.
Everything is brand new in the apartment, I absolutely loved living there. Linda was very communicative, she responded quickly to my questions and was always available to help.
I recommend it 100%.

Linda nagyon kedves , segítőkész hölgy. Bármilyen problémával kereshettük Őt. Pár nappal hamarabbi érkezésünk volt nem volt gondja vele. Csak ajánlani tudom.
A lakás igazán jó helyen van , szerettük nagyon. Beosztása mérete , remek volt. Egy dolog okozott hiány érzetet: nem volt tévé. Kislányomnak nagyon hiányzott a mesék miatt. Ezt leszámítva nagyon jól éreztük magunkat, már már haza jártunk .

The place was well located and had all the amenities. We arrived to a place that you could tell hadn’t been cleaned for a while (dust and cobwebs in many places) but overall we were satisfied with the experience.
Though during our stay we were satisfied with communication with our landlady, after checkout we were met with abuse for allegedly living in squalor and being dirty people according to photos of incredibly minor smudges from cleaning products. We raised no issues when arriving ourselves to a place that appeared not to have been thoroughly cleaned with dust, cobwebs, less than clean baking trays, and black mould in the washing machine, so we sorted these problems ourselves. The landlady’s abuse after checkout from a long stay, in an apparent attempt to extort a €50 cleaning fee from us, was unacceptable and I would encourage anyone to think very carefully about renting here. It appears from reading other reviews this is not the first time this has happened to tenants here. Be prepared to take photos of everything on arrival and before departure, and otherwise deal with a less than understanding landlady.

Extremely discusting building. The neightbors are smoking all the time, the building smells like garbage.
When I arrived the fridge was extremrly dirty, there where hairs in my bed everywhere.
The airco hardly works aswell.
The pictures might look good but please stay away here, it is not worth it
Afterwards the owner is blaming me that the fridge is dirty...unbelievable. It looks like they do this to allot of tentants if I see the previous reviews.

I had a very bad experience staying there. First of all the host was not present at check-in and check-out. Opening the door was very tight, the internet was very poor (I even didn’t have it for 5 days in a row). Also pillows were dirty. And after all, the host didn’t come on check-out to see that the apartment is clean and everything is in order, but after one day she wrote that I should pay an extra fee for cleaning!
I do not recomend to stay there! Really! Of course you can ignore this feedback but you will be disappointed once you come there.

The apartment is very well situated for visiting BP, it has all the needed basics (including capsule coffee maker :-). It is spacious for 4 people. On the ground floor with a small courtyard, practical with children. Unfortunately we were there during construction happening with 2 neighbours. The issue mentioned by previous tenants about CO2 risk has been dealt with and there is a CO2 detector in the bathroom. Linda, was very responsive and we had no issues whatsoever.

The apartment is located in a convenience location, with easy access to public transport. It is opposite of the night club, therefore during weekend nights is louder. The apartment looked like on pictures, however the main entrance and staircase is bad conditions and dirty, there was no light in a corridor. The apartment was clean except bathtub, floor in the bathroom and shower handle. I was missing extra lamp to work, clock and kettle, but a kettle has been provided to me.
I have never met the Landlady, and we have only exchanged text messages. She instructed me well how to get in to the apartment and checked if I'm ok.
The Landlady has not provided me with a handover document, that is described in the contract and I regret I have not asked for.
On my departure I cleaned the apartment, however when I left, it appeared that cleaning is not meeting the Landlady expectations. She sent me an extra invoice, despite the fact, we have never discussed or agreed extra payments for cleaning services. I paid to close this discussion but it was disappointing experience and I took learning for future. I hope other people are more experienced so I wish them happy stay.

BEWARE. Do not book with this host. Lied about the apartment being left dirty and the bed broken(haha..?). I left the apartment much cleaner than it was given to me and did not break anything. There's a problem with wifi in the corner of the living room where tv stands. It makes watching Netflix difficult sometimes (it might be a problem, but you can neither move the router nor the tv).
The water heater is not very modern/eco, and it takes time for water to warm. It's not easy to adjust it easily.
The pans are old. We needed to buy one.
To sum up: I would revisit this place, and I can highly recommend it.

When I entered the apartment I was not greeted by anyone. the apartment had been cleaned, but was not extremely clean, I vacuumed and mopped it, it does not matter, I understand that the apartment had not been occupied for a long time, it was still correct.
On the day of my departure, the owner sends me messages and insults me because my cleaning is not enough for her, and asks me to pay € 50 for the service of a professional household. I confirm that I have made the apartment at least as clean as when I received it.
I am amazed and disappointed with the messages I received, this has never happened to me before!
I am not advising this owner who is trying to extort money from me for spurious reasons.

We moved into the flat after the Covid winter lockdown in Hungary and it was immediately clear that no one had been living in the property for some time. The flat was in extremely poor condition when we moved in; it was very dirty with lots of dust and dead insects on the floor and surfaces. My partner and I spend the first days cleaning the flat as best as we could as well as replacing broken parts such as the shower tube which was spraying water across the bathroom. We paid for this ourselves as we wanted to get our relationship with the landlord Linda off to a good start.
The biggest problem was that the boiler had also not been cleaned for some time. This meant it emitted Carbon Monoxide. This was so serious that my partner had to spend the night in hospital with Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Linda claimed the boiler had been cleaned recently, however an independent engineer who came to repair it said the problem was the amount of dirt. I also watched him remove a huge amount of dust and dirt from inside the boiler and it also seemed to me that the boiler had not been cleaned for some time.
When we handed the apartment back we again tried to clean the flat as best as we could. However there are months of dirt which needs a full deep clean by a professional company with the correct machines and cleaning products. When Linda arrived for the handover she tried to complain that the flat wasn’t clean enough to give the deposit back. I was very surprised that after a Carbon Monoxide leak in her flat had resulted in someone being hospitalised, she was now complaining about a €50 deposit but eventually she seemed to accept that the flat was being handed back in a better condition that she had given it to us and she returned my deposit.
Overall I would advise people to think carefully. If you do decide to stay here, I strongly recommend you bring a Carbon Monoxide alarm with you. There is one in the flat but it has been triggered numerous times by the CO leaks in the bathroom and despite official guidance saying that a CO alarm should be replaced after it has been triggered, Linda chose to keep the old one in place. We ended up buying our own alarm but we took it with us when we left.
I have written to Flatio and asked them to undertake an inspection of this property before more people are allowed to live here. I hope this results in some changes, but the above is true as of September 2021. This is the first negative review I have ever written of a property and I don’t enjoy writing it but it is important that people are warned of the potential risks. To try to end on a positive note, I would say that Linda’s partner was very kind and polite throughout the rental process.

It was a very nice flat with everything you need to be able to live properly and the owner had a long and descriptive paper where she wrote all of the generel things you have to do.

Great apartment, in an horrible and dirty building in a street that looks from 1946, very destroyed. Loud neighbours. Owner is gonna try to steal your money, cleaning fee not included, watch out.

A lakás abszolút megfelelt a leírtaknak és a képen látottaknak, tiszta, rendezett kis lakás. Csendes utcában, de mégis közel a belváros, busz- és villamosmegállók, boltok, éttermek. Linda mindenben korrekt, segítőkész és nagyon kedves! Nagyon meg voltunk mindennel elégedve! Nyugodtan ajánlom! :)
Nyáron viszont nagyon meleg van, egy légkondi hiányzik.

Easily one of my best renting experiences. Linda is extremely kind and polite, communication was quick and easy. The flat was nice, exactly as on the pictures. Fast wifi, fairly easy parking in the nearby streets. I was totally satisfied, recommended with confidence.

A lakás kényelmes, jól felszerelt és jó helyen van. Nem volt semmi problémám a bérlés ideje alatt, amit kellett, azt könnyen és gyorsan megbeszéltük. Elégedett voltam.
The apartment is comfortable, well equipped and in a good location. There was no problem during the rental, we discussed all the necessary issues easily and quickly. I was very satisfied.

It is almost at your fingertips with all the necessary services from the apartment. You can reach almost any point of the city center on foot in a few minutes and it is also in a good location for public transport: trolley, metro, Nyugati train station etc.
